On this page you will find all data that I know about the ancestors of Johannes Mössner. If you know more or find errors please contact me. Please help to make this collection as complete and correct as possible.
Usually the data have been checked by myself. Exceptions are written in gray and have a reference that starts with . These data still need to be checked! Anyway, they are listed in a reference that seems to be reliable, and this is why I have listed the data here already. This may give a clue what to look for.
Please pay attention to the notes and open points. Some of them are given in the list of resources at the end of this page, some within the family tree.
I would like to thank Robin Deems for the professional help and collaboration. This was a great help when doing research into the ancestors of Johannes Mössner. Special thanks go also to Klara Bollinger. She kindly deciphered the very tricky texts.

Some data can not be determined with the help of church records, because they do not exist. In these cases I have written a ¬ . To get more information it is necessary to check if other resources exist besides church records, for example tax lists, military lists or inheritance lists.
I have used these primary sources to compile the family tree. The numbers are the numbers of the microfilms that are archived at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where they can also be borrowed.

The birth record says: "getauft Anna par. Schoppel Hans, Cosander Anna ux. Paten: Katharina, Melcher Haugen ux. Vogt Caspar Kohler, u. Michael Strom." ("baptized Anna, parents Schoppel Hans, Cosander Anna wife. Godparents: Katharina, Melcher Haugen wife, reeve Caspar Kohler, and Michael Strom."). The marriage record says "Maria, Hannß Costantzers, Bürgers allhir" ("Maria, daughter of Hannß Castanzer, burgess here"). Costantzer/Coßander and Schoppel are family names. One could be a vulgo name. The church records need to be checked again to see if there possibly is a marriage record of Hans Schoppel and Anna.

The church records of Aldingen still need to be read. Anna's surname is hard to read in the church records of Trossingen. But reading those from Aldingen Robin Deems has found that her surname must be Glaser.

LDS 2236237 Rzgow oo1811-1813, 667: In 1811 a marriage of Thomas Schneckenburger from Schura in Württemberg is recorded. His parents are Jacob Schneckenburger and "Ursula Rygierow". According to the church records in Trossingen Thomas was born on 9 Mai 1789 in Schura, and there is a note telling that he went "to Poland". Some secondary Records have been mentioning Ursula Rieger. In Trossingen there is no marriage recorded, she must be born in another village and also married there. Who knows more?

The marriage records lists Hans as the father of Joganens Schneckenburger. The only birth record of Johannes, son of Hans Schneckenburger is on 9 February 1686 in Schura. Marginally there is a note "+ 8 months old". There is a death record on (8) October 1686: "Johannes, Hanns Schneckenburgers Sohn, von Schura, 8 Monate alt." ("Johannes, son of Hanns Schneckenburger, from Shura, 8 months old"). Through 1680 there is no other birth record that could fit. Therefore it is not clear who the parents of Johannes are.

! "Agatha Stockin, Witwe eine geb. Strohmin. Den 22.Okt. morgens zw(ischen) 7 und 8 Uhr starb Agatha weyl(and) Christian Stocken sel. Witwe. This record more or less says that Agatha Stock, a widow of the already dead Christian Stock and née Strohm died on October 22, in the morning between 7 and 8 o'clock. She was born on August 16, 1661 and was more then 90 years old. On the 9th of ... she went on the field, because despite her age she could still walk very well and also her hearing and memory was not deficient. Now it gets not so clear, but it seems that she was in front of the field near the field of Hans Schlenker, who was a weaver. This Hans Schlenker was approaching with a dung wagon and Agatha wanted to evade on the right-hand side. But there was also a boy overtaking, and Agatha could not go further aside because of the narrow pass. Her left foot and arm got jamed. [1771.4]
The death record points to the birth record and vice versa. The birth record gives the family name Strohm. The marrigae record says "Christian Speckh, (Matthiae) Speckhs ... hinderlassener ehelicher Sohn und Agatha, Jacob Strohmen Burgers allhier eheliche Tochter" ("Christian Speckh, son of the already dead (Matthias) Speck and Agatha, daughter of Jacob Strohm, burgess here"). It needs to be checked if in the death record it really says "Stockin". Maybe it should be read as "Speckin"? The handwriting needs to be analysed looking for other examples. Thr family name "Stock" does not really exist in Schwenningen - but also this needs to be checked again.
